Its a normal day in the lull of Christmas, but with may people still taking their enforced Christmas week holiday buses should be full of leisure, bargain and festive passengers. With many companies taking a revised service into play, lets run down what you can expect at a bus stop near you today:

First Bus

Most First Bus subsidiaries run a Saturday level of service for these days. It is always a bit of a bugbear for some parts of Dorset as this means that the X54 between Weymouth, Wool, Wareham and Poole is completely cancelled; First Wessex simply don’t make an exception like they do for other services.

(of course, for Wareham to Poole there are still morebus services available!)

There are a very small number of exceptions to that rule though:

• Bridport & Yeovil: Wessex service 6 will run to it’s weekday timetable
• Portsmouth: The recently introduced Late, Late Evening buses that run only on Friday and Saturday nights – will only run on Friday 30th December

Go South Coast

Buses across Go South Coast are largely running to a Saturday service level – including to parts where the X54 just doesn’t reach!

There are a long list of exceptions though because across the blue and red, blue and green brands; they run a lot of buses!

Bluestar

• An Additional Bluestar 5: 0705 from Eastleigh, 0745 from Romsey
• Weekday Service on Bluestar 6
• Weekday Service on service X7 & X7R (jointly run with Salisbury Reds)
• Weekday Service on services 35, 36 and 39 around Romsey and H1, H2, T3 and T4 around Hythe and Totton

Weekday services will operate on the following services:

• Lymington Routes X1, X2 and Bluestar 6
• X branded routes X3 and X6 through Ringwood, X8 to Bridport
• Most contracted or supported services 23, 24, 38, 11, 119, 125, 191, 193, RINGO and Bournemouth Airport 737
• All Damory services

There will also be extra trips on most Bournemouth and Poole town services before 0630 (which are running to a Saturday timetable)

Stagecoach South

Stagecoach South usually run a variety of service levels across all depots in out focus; Andover, Basingstoke, Portsmouth and Winchester.

• Andover: Weekday (school holiday) services across all routes
• Basingstoke: Saturday service – except 76, 16 & 22 (Weekday) and 13 (special service) (click the images to see them better) (I know – there are probably a million better ways of doing it)

• Portsmouth: Saturday service except Hoverbus (Weekday) and 38 (School Holiday)
• Winchester: Saturday service except 46, 461 and 95 (Weekday)

Xelabus

Xelabus are running their normal weekday timetable on their normal weekdays.
