if its not AI generated pictures that you enjoy, I asked Claude for a witty ditty:
Through Chichester, Portsmouth, and old Hampshire’s bounds,
Stagecoach South’s engines make their faithful rounds.
While Santa soars high with his reindeer above,
Our buses below spread their own kind of love.
Through Winchester, Havant, right down to the coast,
When others stay home, we transport folks the most!
Thank you for the messages and tweets telling me that the Christmas timetables for Stagecoach South have appeared online. It’s taken me a few days to have the motivation and the energy to get around to uploading them, the autumnal bugs have decided to hit just a week after ones flu jab (tin foil hat…. It’s merely coincidence).
These are not being openly advertised that I have noticed yet, so may indeed still be subject to change. There is also still a note saying that timetables will be “available shortly.” So while I would doubt things will change, do take a small modicum of care.

New Years Day – Wednesday 1st January
If you are in the Fareham and Gosport area on New Years Day – The Provincial Society are once again running their Ale and Ride bus service; a free heritage route linking some of the great pubs around.
This is not a paid advert and i have no connection to the provincial society
You can find out more information on the Provincial Society website, as well as pictures from previous events. You can also visit their Facebook Page.
Stagecoach South don’t oft run much on New Years Day:
Andover – No service (Salisbury Reds are running a special service on the Acitv8)
Basingstoke – No service
Winchester – No service
Portsmouth – Special service on Pauslgrove service 18, Anchorage Park and Havant service 21 and Southsea, Havant and Leigh Park service 23. These are all planned to run hourly during the daytime.
Thursday 2nd January
A normal (non-schoolday) service should resume across the Stagecoach South network with one exception:
On Thursday 2nd January 2025, service 23 commences operation at 05:24 from Leigh Park, 05:11 from Farlington & 05:35 from Southsea

I would say probably the “Last Christmas” for 49 & 49H & probably the 27 as HCC pulling plug on the money!
I am not sure when the contracts are due to end (?) – I can’t imagine HCC would pull in the middle of an arrangement.
I also have not heard then the bus pass arrangements will change…. April?
And yet, HCC has just been awarded £14M to ‘support local bus services’ from the BSIP. So what’s going on? On the one hand they are withdrawing £500k of support, on the other they have got £14M to provide additional support?
