How are you? Just because this blog’s primary job is to bring you Hampshire bus service updates, it does not mean we do not care. In my daytime line of work, I have seen people becoming more despondent about life as the fallout from the coronavirus pandemic continues to restrict our lives.

Remember, there is always someone to talk to:

You can contact Samaritans 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
You can call 116 123 (free from any phone).
You can email jo@samaritans.org
You can also call the Welsh Language Line on 0300 123 3011 (7pm–11pm every day).

There are many other services available as well. When I have felt the need to refer people, I have usually used this page from Mind as my go to list of numbers for people to call.

Service Changes in Hampshire

This week has a smaller list of service changes across Hampshire. In Hilsea and Hoeford, new drivers duties see Wednesday services re-introduced on the F3 between Fareham and North Portchester, and enhancements on the 2, 7, 18 and 22. I reported on this during the week.

Service F3 will be running it’s full Wednesday timetable during school hours. There are still 4 round trips (and a positioning journey) between 11am and 3pm.

Service 2 will increase to Every 15 Minutes during Saturday daytimes.

Service 7 returns to it’s pre-pandemic timetable of Every 12 Minutes during during the weekday daytime.

Service 18 has an increased service of Every 20 Minutes weekday daytime. I am still convinced that this is a more frequent timetable than before the service cuts in March.

Service 22 returns to it’s full timetable. The gap in the middle of the day, which I presumed was for a driver break, has been removed.

You can find the changes and timetables here.

In Southampton, Bluestar are revising a small number of morning rush hour services from Southampton on the BlueStar 1 to Winchester.

A new timetable is expected over the weekend, of this very late change.

Service Changes in Dorset

Yellow Buses are making a number of changes this weekend as well. They were the first to report this weekends amendments and we looked at them a few weeks ago. This is the quick summary though:

Service 1a becomes half-hourly on the Somerford extension.

Service 1b extended back to Bournemouth Square every day and Somerford on Sundays. Timetable changes as a result.

Service 2 becomes Every 15 Minutes on the Bearwood section 6 days a week.

Service 4a is extended to Kinson and Bear Cross.

Service 5 & 5a has weekday timetable enhancements.

Service 6 also includes a new loop of Leigh Park and Canford Bottom in shopping hours.

Service 6h is reduced to a key worker and shopper timetable. The Saturday service is withdrawn.

Service 21 has an extra commuter trip for those heading to Christchurch.

Again, you can see the full announcement and the timetables on the Yellow Buses website here.
