Guess what! Home School is In! Following the national lockdown and the closure of schools for the foreseeable, this blogger is now back on half-furlough, half homeschool-ing and that means 7am to 7pm is school time.

As a result of the schools closing, Stagecoach are revising their services from this Monday with a “small” reduction in services. There will be too much detail for us to put it all in a large post, so here is the synopsis.

Andover

Most town services will run at an hourly frequency, with the exception of service 1 to King Arthur Way & Roman Way which will run Every 20 Minutes and Service 12 to the south of the town will run 4 trips a day instead of 5.

Most town services are finished by 8pm. Only an extra service 1 at 2035 runs after this, and a P20 just after 2100.

Running out of town, services to further afield are largely less frequent. Many timetables will only run a few days per week and you really must check the timetables on the website.

Basingstoke

High-frequency Town services during the week will run at a mostly Every 20 Minutes frequency and close by 9pm. Exceptions to this are the 6 Every 15 minutes and the 7 every 30 minutes.

The service 4, connecting many parts of town with North Hampshire Hospital will continue to be hourly, but other services will be less frequent.

Saturday services will be largely reduced further again, although Sunday services are broadly normal.

You can check timetables via the Basingstoke tab of the Stagecoach website.

Portsmouth

Most services into and out of Portsmouth are running at half-hourly or better during the week. The 30 and 31 to Hayling Island both run hourly, so technically it is a half-hourly frequency.

The short trips on the 21 complement to offer a 15 minute frequency to Anchorage Park, but the 38 between Petersfield and Alton is only a few times a day.

What is interesting is that services run later in and out of Portsmouth than the rest of the area, possibly due to the higher internal movement of people on Portsea Island. Last buses on the 23 do not get back to depot until just before midnight.

Saturday services are largely at similar frequencies to the weekdays and Sundays are at usual Sunday expectations.

You can check timetables via the Portsmouth tab of the Stagecoach website.

Winchester

Winchester timetables are not yet available, but are likely to be mid way between the March lockdown and the last week of timetables.

They will be found over the next day or so on the Winchester tab of the Stagecoach website.
