If you had a fleet of vehicles, sat idle because of a lack of customers, you would probably be busy counting the savings in petrol, wear and tear, and trying to work out how to SORN them. Over at Xelabus though, they are offering them out for free, for local communities to get groups together and take them for their COVID vaccinations.
The bus company has urged leaders within housing associations, sheltered housing schemes and other high risk vulnerable members of the community to get in touch. Where they are able to help, Xelabus will provide free of charge transport to vaccination points.
Reported in a number of publications, Gareth Blair is quoted:
We feel this is a way we can give something back to the community in which we serve.
“We all want to get back to a form of normality and as such if this helps us all reach that goal then all the better
“Groups need to be of a minimum of 8 passengers that can be socially distanced on the buses.
Gareth Blair is the Managing Director at Xelabus.
