Although the pubs are now open, the shops are bursting at the seams and desperate to remain solvent; it might seem strange that some of our local bus operators have not resumed a near-normal bus timetable. Xelabus was one of these, and has come in for some criticism from passengers for it. Xelabus have announced that a full pre-COVID timetable will resume.
These changes will take effect from Sunday 30th May:
Service X6 and X7 for Hiltingbury will return to it’s
* hourly timetable (every 2 hours in each direction around the Hiltingbury Loop) on weekdays,
* hourly timetable (except the lunch break 1200 departure) between Eastleigh and Fryern Arcade, Waitrose on Saturdays
* four trips between Eastleigh and Velmore only on Sundays
Service X9 and X10 between Southampton – Hedge End – Bishops Waltham and Eastleigh will return to it’s
* hourly timetable on weekdays
* 2 hourly timetable on Saturdays
and finally Sunday services resume on the X4 and X8 as well, something that has been missed.
…. and a Sunday travel offer ….
If you are in Eastleigh town centre on Thursday 27th and Friday 28th May, then pop down to the Shopping Precinct between 0930 and 1530 where Xelabus will be giving out vouchers.
These are for 2 for 1 on Sundays and can be used by either a fare paying passenger or a Concessionary Bus Pass holder.
This is to promote the return of green buses on the three Sunday routes it operates.
