Christmas Services at First Wessex

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Last Christmas, I gave you my my spare Wright Streetlite’s
But the very next day, you sent it to Axminster on an X53 – it didn’t like that
This year, to save me from tears
It will brake down at the King’s Statue, it’s protesting…. it says “No more rolling hills along the coast, damnit.”

There is a recurring theme with my sanity. As you might be able to tell. So while I go worrying about whether the children will actually eat the turkey this year, if the stuffing balls really are free range sage or just what the packet says, and if the Santa Bus really needs that much bunting; we turn our service look to Weymouth and south Dorset.

If First Wessex in Weymouth and the Jurassic Coast is not your local operator, or you are just interested in how your service compares, summaries and links to all the operators can be found on it’s own dedicated Christmas bus service page.

Christmas Services

I have been writing something about Christmas bus services at this point over the last few looks. All I am going to say time time is… Bah Humbug they cancelled our usual trip to see Santa this year…

Christmas Eve

Oh my good God. Someone has made this First Bus brand a really simple, easy to understand Christmas Eve service.

A full and normal Friday service will run at out of the Weymouth depot on Christmas Eve! Yes, that means the lucky driver on the last number one will be able to wave at Rudolph as they cross over the bridge from Portland. We all know that Rudolph is really the driver of the Number Sleigh from North Pole!

Christmas Day (Saturday) & Boxing Day (Sunday)

First Wessex do not run any services on either Christmas Day or Boxing Day.

Monday 27th & Tuesday 28th December

Sunday services will run on all routes across Weymouth and South Dorset.

Wednesday 29th, Thursday 30th and New Years Eve

Full Saturday timetable on these days with the exception of service 6 in Yeovil, which will run a weekday timetable.

This includes New Years Eve, where again a lucky driver might get to pull out a glass of non-alcoholic Processo (Nozecco is actually quite nice once you are use to it) and pull a party popper on the bridge off the Isle.

New Years Day

Like Christmas Day, First Bus policy seems to be that there are no buses running. There are No Wesswex on New Years Day.

Sunday 2nd January & Monday 3rd January

A full Sunday service runs on all First Wessex routes.

Tuesday 4th January

Normal service resumes.
