There are some changes coming up for First Solent users in the Portsmouth area this Remembrance Sunday. Both changes are for buses running out of Hilsea depot. I had waited, I was hoping to bring you more than “it’s changing,” but as yet there is nothing mentioned on the First Solent website.
These changes are expected to affect the following services;
- Service 8: Gunwharf – City – Cosham – Waterlooville – Canfield
- Service 18: Paulsgrove – Cosham – Fratton – Southsea
The timetables that are found on TravelineSW do not seem to offer any insight, although some of the more enthusiastic members of the world hope it signals a return to Clarence Pier. I find this unlikely though.
After a tip-off from a reader, I had another look at the timetables. You will find a few minutes extra running time has been added to some trips and this means that timings will change by a few minutes both ways. The 18 remains a reduced hourly service at the weekends, which for the Winter does not surprise me – demand to the seafront is probably quite low.
