Monday to Thursday Bus Services
In Christmas week,there are not many unusual things going on. If you are commuting to work (rather than adhering to the Work From Home request) then you will find most weekday services running to a weekday timetable.
If your bus usually only runs one or two days a week, then check. They are largely running onto their usual day-by-day basis.
A Normal Weekday Timetable will run on almost every bus route across Hampshire and Dorset between Monday 20th and Thursday 23rd December. THESE are the exceptions:
Yellow Buses
A Saturday Service will run on many of it’s high-frequency routes: Yellow Buses (1/a/b, 2, 3/x, 4/a, 5/a, 6, 12)
- Service 1 / 1a / 1b to New Milton and Christchurch
- Service 2 to Castlepoint and Bearwood
- Service 3 and express 3x to Bournemouth Hospital and Castlepoint
- Service 4 to Winton and Christchurch
- Service 4a to Winton and Kinson
- Service 5 / 5a to Winton and Kinson
- Service 6 to Bearwood and Wimborne
- Service 12 between Alum Chine and Hengistbury Head
Service 31 between Bournemouth Hospital and Christchurch is suspended.
Stagecoach South
Stagecoach South will be running a special “revised non-schoolday” timetable on the 38 between Petersfield and Alton. Now… who knows what that means exactly, please send details on the back of a postage stamp to:

Sadly the operators expect all their passengers to use journey planners to see what is running. Fortunately putting either 13 or 38 into bus times for eg 29th December will show the full actual timetables (as should Traveline SW)
I have always had a bit of a gripe with the Stagecoach website in general, it does not feel very very happy to just let you navigate it. Service changes appearing in Promos, the whole COVID 19 page being abandandonned but left to active as though it is still updated…..
