Changes have been registered with the relevant departments for services in First Solent ready for the summer season.
Details are not on the First Solent that I can see. I have checked the COVID page which is (or was) being updated and the planned changes page and I can not see it. I have been blind to things before though, so it might simply be an oversight.
Changes for Gosport & Fareham
Service E1 and E2, now using their new Wright Streetlight Max fleet of vehicles, are due to a timetable uplift for weekday services.
Each service, from Gosport Bus Station to Fareham Bus Station via Elson or Anns Hill & the Henry Cort Way Busway, will run a a combined frequency of every 7 / 8 minutes across common sections of route:
New Weekdays timetable
(Note: All times are ‘-ish’ and refer to each separate route)
| From | Then | Until | Then | Until | Then | Until | |
| Currently | 0530 | Every 15 Minutes | 0700 | Every 20 Minutes | 1730 | Gradual reduction to Every 40 Minutes | 2300 |
| From 11 July | 0530 | Every 15 Minutes | 0700 | Every 16 Minutes | 1745 | Gradual reduction to Every 20, then 40 Minutes | 2300 |
Strangely, whatever First Solent has done to the Open Data upload of the timetable. Each E2 is duplicated throughout the whole timetable, except Bank Holidays.
From Fareham to Gosport; this appears to be that one service terminates at Gosport Bus Station Stop C and one at Stop B. In the other direction, although both E1 and E2 leave from Stop C; one E2 stops at Fareham Railway Station stop R and one at Stop S.
This is not a criticism, this is a highlight at how detailed Bus Open Data needs to be and the effect it can have.
