Go South Coast changes in September

As with every other bus operator, GoAhead are making their post-summer and schools changes to services from Sunday 4th September. Some of these changes, particularly any in Bournemouth might change at short notice if there is still settling down in driver numbers or the effects of Yellow Buses.

Bluestar

Starting in Southampton. There are a number of changes across the routes with some frequency increases.

Bluestar 1 to Chandlers Ford and Winchester has some quite minor variations. The schoolday variation on the 0640 service from Southampton now does not happen, but more importantly the three evening buses serving the railway station will now not serve the railway station.

Bluestar 8 between Southampton, Marchwood and Hythe will run up to 10 minutes later on all trips Monday to Saturday, whereas….

Bluestar 9 between Southampton, Hythe and Fawley / Calshot and Langley will run up to 15 minutes earlier… but only on weekdays.

Bluestar 11 and Bluestar 12 between Southampton, Totton and Calmore / West Totton are both increasing in frequency back to every 20 minutes on each route on weekdays. They do remain every half hour on Saturdays and every hour on Sundays though.

More minor changes, affecting one or two buses across the week or small re-timings affect Bluestar 2 to Eastleigh and Fair Oak, Bluestar 3 for Boorley Green, Bluestar 4 to Lord’s Hill and Romsey, Bluestar 16 to Townhill Park and Bluestar 18 between Millbrook City and Thornhill.

morebus

The only changes at the moment for morebus is that the U1 and U3 will revert to it’s University Term Time timetables from 18 September, and the U4 will restart.

The new Unibus branded buses are also already out in action due to morebus taking on many of the Yellow Buses routes over the summer. Have a side-by-side with an older version ofthe livery to see what you think:

Oh – and sorry – the image compare is a new feature I am trying out on the website. If you don’t like it, let me know in the comments below…. I think it is okay, but a bit fiddly to set up.

Southern Vectis

There are no service changes in September apart from schools trips and variations. The current summer services on the Breezers and Shuttles are due to be suspended after service on 1st October, with the exception of The Needles Breezer which runs a reduced timetable in October.

  1. Re: morebus/Unibus, presume the U2 starts on 19th September?

Image compare works well for me!

    1. I’ve heard rumours about the 11’s withdrawal too. Apparently the X6 is going to be diverted through Bearwood estate to compensate for this.
