Rambling Across the South Downs

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Subject to a late award for funding, it has finally been confirmed that the South Downs Rambler will be running on Sundays between Winchester and Petersfield again this year.

With three trips each way on a Sunday, the service calls at the Winchester Science Centre, the National Trust managed Hinton Ampner House & Gardens and the iron age fort at Old Winchester Hill. You know me though, I would probably just ramble up and down the villages with the most pubs.

In fact, if you look at the leaflet advertising the service, Bluestar even helpfully tell you which pubs open at 11am and which at noon! Maybe whoever thought up that brilliant idea is an ale drinker!

As long as they are running, you will be able to link up at Petersfield and Winchester Railway Stations with services to and from London Waterloo and the coast.

The timetable for the bus service can be found on the Bluestar website, the PDF timetable has been uploaded as the promotional leaflet, which shows some of the attractions on the route. The PDF guide also confirms that both Concessionary Passes and the £2 price cap fare are available on this service.
