With the summer season now over, Southern Vectis are moving to their winter timetable this weekend with service changes taking effect on Sunday 1st October.
Timing changes will affect the following service, due to the lower traffic levels in low season
- Service 2 between Newport, Shanklin, Brading and Ryde
- Service 3 between Newport, Ventnor, Shanklin and Ryde
- Service 8 between Robin Hill and Newport (in this direction only)
- The summer extra service between Newport and Sandown ceased on 01 September
Services 6 (Newport – Ventnor) and 12 (Newport – Freshwater – Alum Bay) gain extra evening services Monday to Saturday.
Many of the summer services will now also withdraw for the winter months, as per usual:

- Island Coaster
- Shanklin Shuttle
- Summer Links
The Needles Breezer will also reduceit’s timetable from 05 November.
Never understood why the no.2 route doesn`t have an evening service,as it`s so much quicker than the 3,to get from Newport to Shanklin .
