In the time of the Christmas lull between Boxing Day and New Years Eve some of us have to fight the crowds of January Sale bargain hunters and weary workers. Me? I am apparently off to Ikea and West Quay to improve the lighting in the kitchen and buy myself a new belt… or something.
As I am actually writing this on Sunday morning, by the time you read it I will probably have already been to Ikea, sworn at a few annoying shoppers, been to either Beards and Boards, The Social or both (and a few more), and be in trouble with the wife for doing so.
These are the service summaries for Monday 29th and Tuesday 30th December.
Alton, Bordon and Petersfield
Saturday service except:
- Services 18 (run from Aldershot), 23 and 65 (run from Guildford) will run a weekday service.
- Service 38 runs a special timetable.
Andover
Stagecoach South will be running a Saturday service on most services. A weekday timetable will run on:
- Service 66 & 67 between Tidworth & Salisbury
- Service 87 between Andover and Salisbury
- Service 5 will run two trips (only) at 0945 and 1245
The joint Activ8 service run by Stagecoach and Salisbury Reds will run a Saturday service.
Basingstoke
Saturday service except:
- Stagecoach Service 16 will also run on Monday.
- Newbury & District Flightline 731 to Frimley & Heathrow will run a weekday timetable
Bournemouth & Poole
A Saturday service will run across the more network with the following standard exceptions:
Weekday Timetables:
- Services 18, 24, 33, 737 in Bournemouth
- Rural service 38 extending outside the BCP area
- New Forest services 119, 120, 125, 191, 193, RINGO
- Longer distance services X1, X2, X3, X6, X8
- Damory Services 1, 2, 6, CR7, CR8, CR9 & 20
Extra morning trips run on
- 1a to Somerford & Christchurch
- 8 for Turin Moor and Upton
- 13 to Ferndown & Wimborne
- 14 between Poole, Kinson and RBH
- 16 & 17 through Alderney & Rossmore
- 22 to RBH & Castlepoint
Fareham & Gosport
Services will run to a Saturday timetable on the Monday and Tuesday with exceptions listed in the timetables. A quick glance suggests that these changes are the same as the two days of Christmas week:
- Service 11 between Gosport – Elson – Fareham
- Service 21 for Hill Head
- Service 28 & 28A for Segensworth & Whiteley
It should so be noted that the Saturday late night service on First Solent’s service 3 does not run.
Stagecoach South service 69 is running a Saturday service.
Isle of Wight
Southern Vectis will run a normal weekday timetable. I am surprised that this is not something which is being extended across to the mainland with Bluestar and morebus.
Portsmouth & Havant
Both First Solent and Stagecoach South will be running a Saturday service across most of it’s network, with two exceptions. Firstly, as it is not actually a Saturday, the night bus services that only run on a Friday and Saturday night will not run – such as First’s 3 and Stagecoach’s 21. Secondly, the following services will run a weekday service:
- Hoverbus H1 serving Hovertravel
- Tipner Park & Ride PR1
- (Closed Service) QA1 for the NHS Staff Car Parking
- Service 27 between Rowlands Castle, Havant and Emsowrth
South Dorset
Services appear to be running to a Saturday timetable although their generic “see timetable for exceptions” would suggest that from a glance….:
- Service X54 – weekday service
- Service 3 – weekday service
Damory are running a weekday service across their services in and around Blandford and extending down to Dorchester and Weymouth.
Southampton
Saturday service will run across the Bluestar network with the following exceptions:

- Tuesday Only Service 22 through Shirley
- Service 28 & 28a for Chilworth Science Park
- Service 35 in Romsey

No Service will run on PR1 or N1
First Solent will be running
Winchester
A Saturday service will operate on Stagecoach in Winchester. In Hedge End, the 49 & 49h will operate a weekday timetable.
Bluestar 1 is a saturday service with no “Nightstar” N1
TBH there`s not a great deal of difference in Southern Vectis Weekdays and Saturday timetables-apart from route 1 in the early morning-this is not so for Bluestar.
