Following on to changes in Southampton on Monday, First Hampshire also have changes to their services in Portsmouth from Monday 24th January. These are services that are all in the Portsmouth City area, so there are no changes to the Eclipse this time around.
Let’s be honest, most of us should not need to use the bus very often. Those that can not work at home should largely be using private transport to commute to and from work.
Bus companies are also increasingly having shortages of staff because of the pandemic and the self-isolation requirements.

Changes from Sunday 24th January
Service 2 between serving Southesa, St Marys Treatment Centre, QA Hospital and Paulsgrove will run every 10 minutes from around 0700 to 1800, and less frequent into the evening.
Saturday services will continue every 15 minutes and Sunday services every 20 minutes.
The Star will run every 20 minutes on both routes to Wecock Farm and Clanfield during the week. For schools services, 7A is running a reduced service and 7C is now suspended.
Again, Saturday and Sunday services are unchanged.
Services 13 & 14 out to Portsmouth College and Baffins is reduced to hourly in each direction – a combined service every 30 minutes.
Saturday and Sunday services remain as 4 trips in each direction, a bus every hours during shopping hours.
Service 18 will be reduced to every 30 minutes on weekdays and continuing every hour on Saturdays and Sundays.
All the timetables are also shown on the First Portsmouth COVID page
Elsewhere
First Hampshire & Dorset have also announced bus reductions for services in Southampton from Sunday as well, many of their City Red routes are moving to a 6 days a week Saturday service.
First are the last of the big three to start cutting services, as most have gone to school holiday, reduced or Saturday timetables already.
