With Easter approaching, Go South Coast have announced some of their summer service uplift. There are also changes in some parts as the Hampshire County Council funding cuts and bus tenders take effect in Romsey.
All of the changes on the Go South Coast brand take effect on Saturday 1st April. This is except the Breezer 40, which changes on Monday 3rd April.
Southern Vectis
- Island Coaster between Ryde, Sandown, Ventnor and Yarmouth, which usually operates a few morning (towards Yarmouth) and evening (from Yarmouth) has a timetable change. This service is operated by a closed top bus.
This is a 3 hour trip each way, taking in masses of the Islands sights. - Needles Breezer to Alum Bay and The Needles will increase to it’s summer service every 30 minutes until the end of September.
- Summer Links (which until two years ago was numbered 27) will run again from Newport to Tapnell Farm Park (and the excellent The Cow restaurant) and Yarmouth. There are 3 trips from Newport on school days and 4 on weekends and holidays.
Details of the Southern Vectis summer services are found on their website, complete with details of their 24 hour tickets.
morebus
- Swanage Breezer 40 adds it’s additional seasonal duplicates and uplift between Poole Bus Station and Swanage Bus Station.
- New Boscombe Beach Bus (also known as the 99 – can I have a flake with that?) will run between Boscombe Bus Station and Boscombe Pier on a half-hourly service 0930 to 1800 (less a schools trip gap on school days).
Although being registered as a Beach Bus name, the service does a 30 minute circuit of Pokesdown Station and AECC University College in Parkwood Road. It takes 20 minutes to get to the pier and 7 minutes to get back. It’s more like a town bus.
At the time of writing, the timetable for the 99 is on TravelineSW.
Bluestar
- Service 35 between Romsey Halterworth and Braishfield loses everything except a single trip from Braishfield at 0906 and Romsey at 1405 on weekdays.
Currently the 35 runs four times most weekdays (three on Tuesday and Thursday) - Cancellation on Service 36 between Romsey and Lockerley on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
- Cancellation on Service 39 between Romsey, Landford and Normansland. This currently runs on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. (and does the extra trip on the 35)

Couldn`t see any mention of these changes on the Bluestar site.
They usually show on the Bus Open Data Service first which is where they have appeared.
Ok thanks.
