There are a few changes in the works for Stagecoach South which are taking effect in the near future. Now… with some of these services being as a result of tender changes, you would assume that Hampshire County Council would have a record of these decisions on their website. I have yet to find them though, because obviously, I am not looking in the right place.
Fares Changes and New Tickets
So let’s get on with the most important bits. Stagecoach South fare changes take place this weekend (18th June) – the headline figures for the new tickets are:
- Single and Return tickets unchanged ( due to the £2 fare cap / £2.50 cap from October)
- DayRider prices are to stay the same or reduced:
- New DayRider tickets for Hayling Island and Waterlooville (and Chichester / Bognor)
- Night Rider tickets increased to £3
- New Child Flexi5 DayRider and (non-flexi) 4 Week MegaRider bundles introduced
- MegaRider Week and longer tickets increased
- The DayRider Gold (across almost all Stagecoach South) reduced to £8
For all areas you can find your new ticket price on this handy Stagecoach Spreadsheet.
Service Changes
A few of the Stagecoach contracts with Hampshire County Council are now beginning to filter through. This is unlikely to be the full list:
- New timetable on South Downs service 67 effective Sunday 30th July under the new HCC tender award
- Cancellation on service 95 between Winchester and East Stratton effective 30th July. This was originally a tender run by Mervyn’s Coaches of Micheldever if I remember. There is no indication of whether this is a tender change or an entirely dropped tender.
