You know. You have read this blog since September and you have heard me telling you to “Eat out to Help Out.”
You have heard that some of the local bus companies have offered special tickets to help you to eat out to help out.
Not today.

Stay At Home
If you don’t have to go out, don’t.
You already heard that South Western Railway had to reduce services, they had a large number of cases at Salisbury and Yeovil.
You already heard that Stagecoach Andover had enough cases to reduce their service by half.
Now I am hearing reports of cases from transport operators across the UK. This is not just local bus operators, this is not just regional train operators, but across the whole of the UK.
Everyone is Tier 3 or Tier 4
From midnight tonight, almost every person in the UK is either in Tier 3 or Tier 4 restrictions. I do not need to tell you that.
I lost two friends to COVID over Christmas. Do not be the next statistic.
Expect Transport Changes
With schools closing, commuters staying home and bus drivers isolating, we expect changes.
Xelabus announced their services would not be restored in January, and Stagecoach South announced changes in Andover.
Red Funnel have also slashed their RedJet service to commuters only, Wightlink have completely suspended their FastCat.
Think of it though. Xelabus have been running rail replacement and ferry replacement services on the Isle of Wight.
Stagecoach Andover drivers have services that extend to Salisbury and Basingstoke.
South Western Railway staff work right across the south coast, and their rail replacement services attract bus operators from miles around.
Just a simple infection, even asymptomatic, could easily spread. People who commute for essential reasons, because they think they are immune, or because they want to grab that perfect picture of a bus or train. All or none of them can pass the infection on.
Essentially…. any one person can spread this.
